Do you usually underexpose or overexpose your shots… and why?

Let’s settle this once and for all…Some swear by underexposing for cleaner edits — others say overexposing gives that dreamy glow. Which side are you on?

If you can get it right in camera, do that. Underexposing > Overexposing. Underexpose, you preserve highlight detail because once it's blown out you can't recover. Shadows can be lifted in post and I find it easier to fix skin tones when underexpose.
